We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary with a blessing of our marriage. The blessing was held at the most beautiful location in Bodrum Turkey at Ayana and my new dear lovely friend Brenda conducted the most beautiful celtic handfasting ceremony for us. Thankyou Brenda !

Blessing of the marriage of Koray and Isla Selupucin
Good evening and a warm welcome to you all on this special day. We are
all here today to bless the marriage of Koray and Isla.
My name is Brenda and I have
been honoured with the joyous task of leading this ceremony to celebrate their
love for each other. They have chosen to
express their love and commitment through ancient traditions that honour their
ancestors and confirm their intention.
On this date September 8th, 13 years ago Koray and Isla met
here in Bodrum, this date is also the celebration of their 10th
wedding anniversary.
I
remind all of our guests that you have been invited here for a sacred purpose,
not only to witness, but to participate fully with your thoughts and prayers,
asking that this couple be blessed in their future life. You are here because
this couple feels close to you and asks that you join with them in this
declaration of commitment to each other.
You
represent symbolically all the people in the world who have been, and will be
touched in many ways by the life of this couple. You represent those who could
not be here today, and you represent your ancestors – the foundations of your
families.
You
represent all their friends and family, now and forever. You are an irreplaceable part of their
yesterdays, their today and all of their tomorrows. I welcome you
and thank you for adding your love and positive energy to this wonderful
occasion.
(begin with lighting a
candle) You
may wish to light two individual candles representing you individually, and
from these two you each light the Unity candle.
Today is a day to celebrate the love of Koray and Isla. They are two
people who are the halves of a whole. Two souls, coming together to form one
single being; two hearts, beating in a single rhythm. They are together as one,
and so they will now light a candle of unity, to show the universe that what was once two
has become one and
they indeed are one light burning brightly in the darkness.
Koray

candles and then blow out the individual candles.
CARDINAL BLESSING
Koray and isla turn to face

Today, we ask that the infinite light of
the divine shine upon this union. In that spirit, I offer a blessing to this
ceremony.
Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from the east -- new beginnings
that come each day with the rising sun, communication of the heart, mind, body
and soul.
Blessed be this marriage with the gifts of the south -- the light of the
heart, the heat of passion, and the warmth of a loving home.
Blessed be this marriage with the gifts of the west -- the rushing
excitement of a raging river, the soft and pure cleansing of a rainstorm, and a
commitment as deep as the ocean itself.
Blessed be this marriage with the gifts of the north -- a solid
foundation on which to build your lives, abundance and growth of your home, and
the stability to be found by holding one another at the end of the day.
Isla and Koray may you always need one another, not so much
to fill the emptiness as to help each other but know your fullness. May you
want one another, but not out of lack. May you embrace one another, but not
encircle one another. May you succeed in all important ways with each other,
and not fail in the little graces. May you continue to have happiness, and may
you find it in making one another happy.
Handfasting
Koray and Isla have chosen to symbolize their love
and commitment with the ritual of handfasting. I ask that you face each other
and look into each others eyes. Koray and Isla will you please join hands (handshake holding the

Koray and
Isla, this cord ribbons symbolizes you so much. It is your life, your love, and
the eternal connection that the two of you have found with one another. The
ties of this handfasting are not formed by these ribbons, or even by the knots
connecting them. They are formed instead by your vows, by your pledge, your
souls, and your two hearts, now bound together as one.

ones self, joined in commitment to each other, but allowing your love to move
lovingly like the tide.

6.Koray and Isla will it remain your intention to
bring peace and harmony to each other and when the times passes and your hands
become aged and wrinkled will you reach out and be there for one another ?

Koray and Isla will now make declarations to each
other
While you are making the declarations I will tie
the two ends of the cord together.
Isla: In your
light I learn how to love, In your beauty I make poems. You dance in my heart
where no one sees you and that is our art.

The knots of this binding are not formed by these cords
but instead by your vows. And this cord will be a constant reminder of your
vows to each other.
